Should I be thankful for the rain
That waters the parched terrain?
Should I be thankful for the sun?
That gives light to everyone?
Should I be thankful for the man?
Who loves me inspite of who I am?
Should I be thankful for my friends?
Who gives me comfort when I'm in pain?
Should I be thankful for my children?
Who brings me joy without no end?
Dear God, I am thankful for everything.
For everything I am content.
I thank you God for all the things
You have given me - my life, my love,
My children and their children, my friends,
And all those who've touched me
In a very special way.
